Virginia grabbed the top spot with the best business climate in the country for the 4th straight year.
Virginia is the only state ranked in the top 20 in each of the 6 broad categories Forbes examined. The state finished in the top 3 in half of those categories (labor supply, regulatory environment, and quality of life).

Virginia received the highest point total in the history of the CNBC rankings. CNBC noted, "With an unprecedented fiscal crisis at the state level, never has it been tougher to stay competitive. But Virginia met the challenge on every level, achieving the highest point total in the history of our study, and finishing in the top half of every category."
Virginia was also ranked the Best State for Business in 2009 and 2007, and #2 in 2008.
